So this week my application to take part in the British Council Fulbright exchange scheme was sent off. Finally. The head gave her approval. I'm so excited it's untrue. I hope so much I get accepted and that they find me an exchange partner in somewhere I want to go to.
I'm a science teacher in London. I want to go and work in the US for a year. I want to swap schools, classrooms, cultures and homes with an American teacher. The British Council/Fulbright provides me with the opportunity to do just that.
It's been an emotional rollercoaster getting approval and my forms sent in. Getting accepted is going to be even more so.
I hope to go to one of the large places. I want somewhere cosmopolitan. A good gay scene is an absolute must. San Francisco would be the ideal, but Chicago, Seattle, Washington, Orlando, New York are all good too.
I wonder how long it'll be before I hear anything.
